Paul Blue was named Executive Assistant to the City Manager in July 2013 and works in the City Manager’s Office.  In this role, Paul is responsible for overseeing teams in the areas of economic development and redevelopment, government relations, environmental and sustainability programs, and the regional public safety radio system. 

Prior to the City Manager’s Office, Paul was Chief of Staff to Mayor Greg Stanton from November 2011 through June 2013 and director of the Community and Economic Development Department for the balance of 2011.

From 2001 to 2010, he served in middle management and executive roles at the City’s Aviation Department.  During that time Paul led most of the functional areas at Phoenix Sky Harbor including:  real estate, concessions, airline relationships, facility maintenance, finance, design/construction, and planning.

Paul began his career with the city in 1989 working in economic development and continued in this work in a variety of roles that included:  neighborhood redevelopment, business attraction, downtown redevelopment, and capital facility development.

He received his MPA and MBA from ASU in 1990 and 2001 respectively and a BA in Music from Westmont College in 1988.
